Peer Review Policy
Letters on Applied and Pure Mathematics applies an anonymous (single-blind) peer-review policy. The referee’s identity is confidential to the author, while the author’s identity is known to the referee. Referees must not contact the author directly or identify themselves as a referee.
All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening for scope, basic quality, and compliance with journal policies. Manuscripts that pass this screening are sent for external peer review, normally to two or more independent reviewers with relevant expertise. The handling editor makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ reports and the editor’s assessment.
Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts objectively, maintain confidentiality, declare any conflicts of interest, and report concerns about plagiarism, duplicate submission, or other ethical issues to the editors. Any privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and must not be used for personal advantage.
Possible editorial decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. Authors should address reviewers’ comments in a revised submission and provide a response explaining the changes made.
