Editorial Process
A manuscript can be considered for publication only if the same work has not been published elsewhere and is not currently under consideration by another journal.
The journal uses a single-blind peer-review process. In single-blind review, the referee’s identity is confidential to the author, while the author’s identity is known to the referee.
Peer review is an essential evaluation procedure for maintaining high academic standards. It is designed to provide a constructive and critical assessment of submissions and to assist editors in determining the suitability of a manuscript for publication. Manuscripts that pass the editors’ initial screening are typically evaluated by two or more external expert reviewers. Editors may consult additional editors or reviewers when needed before reaching a final decision.
The editorial workflow is managed online through the journal’s submission system. Each submission is assigned a unique manuscript ID, which should be used in all correspondence with the editorial or technical office. After submission, the Editor-in-Chief checks whether the manuscript is eligible for peer review. If eligible, it is assigned to an appropriate handling editor based on the manuscript’s topic. Manuscripts are handled by editors and reviewers who have no conflicts of interest with the authors.
Incoming submissions undergo a preliminary editorial assessment prior to external review. At this stage, the editors may return the manuscript to the authors for corrections or may reject it without further evaluation. Manuscripts may be rejected at this stage if they fall outside the scope of the journal or if they are not of sufficient quality to proceed to full peer review. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to use professional language editing services prior to submission to improve grammar, clarity, formatting, punctuation, and spelling.
Based on reviewers’ reports and the editor’s assessment, the editor may make one of the following decisions: accept, reject, or request minor revision or major revision.
Decisions
Acceptance
After a manuscript is accepted, it is sent to the production stage for copy-editing, English editing (if needed), typesetting, author proofing, final corrections, pagination, and online publication on the journal website. Authors will receive an email notification when the galley proof is ready for review.
Rejection
If a manuscript is not suitable for publication, the decision will be communicated to the authors together with an explanation of the main reasons for rejection.
Minor revision
Authors are asked to revise the manuscript by addressing the reviewers’ comments and to submit a revised version within the requested timeframe. The handling editor may make a decision based on the revision and the reviewers’ recommendations, and may consult reviewers again when necessary.
Major revision
Authors are expected to revise the manuscript substantially in response to the reviewers’ recommendations and to resubmit the revised manuscript in a timely manner. The revised version is normally returned to the original reviewers for re-evaluation. Reviewers will provide updated reports and recommendations to support the editor’s final decision.
